Dear reader,
I have been pondering writing this blog for quite some time now, and I finally decided to put pen to paper – or in my case, fingers to keyboard and crank it out. Many of you have been following me since the release of Untold, and haven’t read a lick of my writing since, so I’m hoping this blog will satisfy your hearts and minds until the release of my next book and beyond. Trust me, it’s in the works!
Unfortunately, I will not reveal much about it as I’m planning to go the traditionally published route (more details to come in a later blog post!). However, I will regale you with stories and reviews and thoughts until then. If you have any ideas or requests on what you want me to write about, drop a comment or send a DM to my Instagram @vasundharajayender.
Until my next blog post, which I’ll publish next Sunday, I’ll tell you the brief story of how I got to this point! So much has changed since I published Untold four years ago. I was 15 back then, grinding through 10th grade. Since then, I met my best friends, moved back to Texas, graduated high school, went to college (hook ‘em horns!), met more of my best friends, traveled, studied, went to so many author events (I met Holly Black, Tahereh Mafi, Lynn Painter, and many more!!!), bought more books than my bookshelf can carry, and read 63 books according to my Goodreads!
So much has changed in my life; I’m 19 now and I’m in rooms I’ve only ever dreamed of being. But some things are still the same! I still love writing, reading, and tea of all kinds (except for Earl Grey, which tastes like straight-up charcoal, not that I’ve ever had charcoal).
I hope you’ll read on every week and hopefully laugh or think a little or maybe even cry? I’m not too sure how sentimental you are. Anyway, I hope this little corner of the internet becomes something you cherish, and I’ll see you next week for the start of my very long series on How to Write & Publish a Book: From Start to Finish. Until next time!
Love,
Vasundhara Jayender
